Crabtree and Evelyn La Source Product Review

Crabtree and Evelyn La Source

Hi

I recently got my hands on some products from the Crabtree and Evelyn La Source collection and had to share them with you. The two products I have been trying out are the exfoliating body scrub with fine pumice and the hydrating body lotion.

Firstly a little bit about the products. They are both part of the newly reformulated La Source collection which consists of a whole range of items ranging from hand creams, exfoliant, shampoo and conditioner, there’s something for your entire body. The collection is inspired by restorative power of the sea and designed to restore, condition and rejuvenate. The products are made of a blend of great ingredients such as underwater algae, mineral salts and seaweeds.

I decided to take this combo with me on a recent holiday to Gran Canaria, so me and my mom could give them a proper test run in the heat. We both suffer from quite dry skin all over and it needs moisturising after every shower and even more so in the hot weather.

I have been using the exfoliant and lotion for just over 3 weeks now and use them together 3 times a week.

The exfoliating body scrub with fine pumice comes in a 175g tube and is £20. The first thing that I loved about the product was that the actual exfoliant was blue, which is my favourite colour and then I was hit by this amazing fresh scent. The consistency of the exfoliant is quite thick but easy to squeeze out of the tube and spreads really well over the body. I loved the fact that the actual product was highly packed with fine pumice which means you have to use less product compared to other products I’ve used that don’t contain as much.  With other exfoliants I have used I find the consistency is too runny and it disperses over the skin far too easily and you feel you need to keep reapplying. For that reason this product goes a long way. It exfoliates so well and does not leave your skin dry but leaves it feeling silky and smooth.

The hydrating body lotion comes in a 250ml bottle and is £19. I LOVE the fact that the bottle comes with a pump as I can leave the bottle on the side and pump away without having to hold it and get product all over the bottle. I feel more brands need to think about adding pumps. The lotion is very light and its consistency means a little goes along way and it absorbs well without leaving a sticky residue on your skin. With some creams and lotions you may need to sit around and wait for it to absorb before you put your clothes but with this you don’t need to at all.  If you have normal skin I think this lotion is perfect as it is leaves your skin feeling lovely and soft but as I have dry skin I have had to use a deeper moisturiser on 2 days a week to keep my skin topped up.

I feel the scent of theses products is universal and will be loved by both women and men. They both smell soooooo good and really do remind me of being by the sea and now that they have accompanied me on my travels, they will always remind me of the good times with my family. I particularly love using them for my morning showers as they leave me feeling so fresh and awake and ready to start my day. Both of the products are priced really well as I feel they would last me quite some time. If they are out of your budget, you could purchase them as a treat and use them once a weak or fortnight to give yourself a little bit of a pamper.

As I said myself and my mom both have very similar skin type and it is quite dry and overall the combination wasn’t too bad, we both just needed a deeper moisturiser couple times a week. If you have normal to slightly dry skin, I think this combination would be perfect. The exfoliant body scrub was my fav of the two because it left my skin so silky smooth and I just can’t explain how much I LOVE the scent.  I think I’m going to try out the La Source Ultra-Moisturising body cream alongside the exfoliant and see how I get on as I think this might be better for me.

If you’re near a Crabtree and Evelyn store anytime soon please do drop in and check the range out, there is something for everyone.

Big thank you to Crabtree and Evelyn for sending me these lovely products, I have really enjoyed using them.
