I am a big Lush fan and have been using their products for many years. But I only really started delving into their hair products a couple of years ago and have been a big fan of Honey I washed my hair and Big shampoo bar, but I think I’ve found my new favourite.
My favourite shampoo and conditioner combo are the Godiva shampoo bar followed by the Big conditioner bar and together they leave my hair feeling great and smelling amazing.
Here is what lead me to try Lush hair products. A couple of years ago my hair started to get very fine (therefore looked flat), quite dry towards the ends and got greasy from the roots quite quickly. I wanted to try using products that contained natural ingredients and headed to Lush. The staff in store were great, they took their time to listen to what i needed from my hair products and suggested the Honey I washed my hair shampoo bar. This was great and felt it did wonders for my hair and have been using it since I discovered it. Before I left for my trip around Asia I spoke to a lovely lady from Lush called Urika and told her i was interested in something new, that would moisturise my hair and tame the frizziness. As I was going away travelling i knew the heat and sea water would dry my hair out and i wanted something that would add planty moisture to my hair but still have volume. She suggested this amazing new combination of products. Without trying them prior to leaving for my 5 week trip, I took the plunge and took them with me. If you are travelling I would really recommend the Lush bars as they do save space, weight and last ages. I was showering every day and sometimes even twice a day and the bars lasted the full 5 week trip.
I didn’t regret my decision, I fell in love with both of them instantly and they have been part of my shower routine ever since. You only need a small amount, the shampoo lathers up really well and the conditioner spreads fairly easily. I feel that using this combo cleaned my hair without leaving my hair feeling dry. I have continued to use them since I have returned from my trip and noticed I can go for about 2-3 days without it going greasy from the roots. Since using this combo my hair feels smooth and actually tames the frizziness. It has a lot more volume and it doesn’t look so flat and not forgetting that it smells great for the rest of the day!! I do find that even if you use the shampoo on its own, it moisturises your hair enough and if you want you can even skip the conditioner. The shampoo bar for me is a shampoo and conditioner in one. As I like to add as much moisture as possible, I always follow with the conditioner.
The conditioner bar can be a little difficult to get used to. At first you are rubbing the bar in your hands and feels like you aren’t getting anything in your hands but bare with it, it takes a little time to warm up and get it going. I personally like to rub it directly onto the ends of my hair. The only thing I’m not so keen on with this product is that it doesn’t really detangle my hair and it leaves it quite knotty when I have apply it and even after I have washed it out. To get around this I have purchased a Denman Shower and massage brush from Boots. I apply the conditioner then run this brush through my hair removing all the knots. It’s also great to stimulate your scalp and roots and give yourself a little massage. I tend to do this when I have applied my shampoo.
I will continue using this combination because they really do work for my hair. Also whenever I use them the scent of them reminds me of my amazing adventure around Asia and makes me super happy.
