Healthy American Pancake Recipe

American Pancake Recipe

I’m like most people, I get bored with having the same old breakfast every morning and I like a little treat from time to time. These healthy American Pancakes are my treat for the week and I usually have them on my weekend. They taste great so fool you to thinking you’re having a cheat breakfast, but they are actually not that bad for you.

Ingredients you need
130g plain flour
150ml semi-skimmed milk
2 medium eggs (white and yolk)
half teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder

(Fry light 1 cal spray required for cooking)

Mix all the ingredients with a whisk and there you have your pancake mix.

This mix makes 4 pancakes, approx 95g per pancake.

Here are the nutritional facts
1 pancake (approx 95g)

1. Get your non-stick pan on the hob on a medium heat.

2. Ensure you leave the pan on the hob until the pan is hot. A few minutes will be sufficient. Note:  If you don’t allow the pan to heat up you will find the first pancake will not go to plan and you’ll want to bin it. Trust me, I’ve been there.

3. Measure your 95g mix. Spray the pan with 2-3 sprays of Fry Light 1 cal spray and pour in your measured batter.

4. Allow the pancake to cook till you see little bubbles appear on the top, flip over and cook until light/medium brown.

There you have it, simple and healthy American Pancake recipe.

Now you can keep you pancakes healthy by popping with your favourite fruit and a drizzle of honey.

Enjoy!
