On my recent road trip to Amsterdam i stayed at the four star Hyatt Place Amsterdam airport hotel for four nights. The rate was £94.59 per night for a double room, with free parking, wi-fi and breakfast.
The hotel is located near Schipol airport and is about 20-25 min drive from the centre of Amsterdam. It is perfect if you are on road trip as they offer free parking on site, which seems to be very hard to find nearer to the centre of Amsterdam and if you do it is very expensive.
The hotel was lovely, really open and airy. The lobby area was huge and great place to chill out and socialise. On arrival we were greeted by some really friendly members of staff who made the check in process very quick and easy.
I made my way to my room and was pleasantly surprised. I had a double room which was really spacious, a corner sofa, a large bathroom with a walk in shower. The room was spotless and I could not fault it. The hotel is close to the airport so you may be able to hear the planes fly over. I didn’t hear anything during my stay, but I am quite a deep sleeper and can pretty much sleep anywhere, so I had an amazing nights sleep.
The hotel room came with breakfast, sadly there wasn’t an option without, if there was I would have definitely gone for it. Reason for that is as I’ve been to Amsterdam a few times and I have a few favourite places to eat breakfast such as Omelegg and Pancakes Amsterdam and always like to revisit them. I would rather skip the standard hotel breakfast and have something I can’t get at home. As I always wake up starving, I would normally pop into a local supermarket on the day I arrive and get some fruit, that way I can start my day with an apple or banana and it will keep me going till I get to the centre.
The only downfall of the hotel was that the car park at the hotel was limited. Arriving one evening at the hotel the car park was full, so we ended up parking on the grass verge. As It was on a first come first served basis, if you arrived late in the evening you may be without a parking space. As we managed to find a ‘spot’ we didn’t enquire into what other options they had if the car park was full. This may be something to question.
Overall, I had a great stay at the Hyatt and would definitely stay there again on my next visit and highly recommend it to you all.
