Some of you may already know that i am a big Hip Hop fan. I’m talking real hip hop, not the music people think is Hip Hop today.
You can’t get better than old school classic artists such as Nas, Tupac Shakur, DMX, Biggie to name a few. I haven’t been too keen on recent ‘hip hop’ until i heard about Kendrick Lamar when he released his album, Good Kid, m.A.A.d City. Soon as i heard his music i knew i was going to like his productions. I am in love with how his voice sounds, his flow, the lyrics. He has the whole package. I haven’t had the opportunity to see him perform live but hoping when he comes on tour i’ll be able to get hold of some tickets.
I have played the hell out of his album, Good kid, m.A.A.d City. Even my friends are sick of getting into my car and hearing the album playing…but not me. I just can’t seem to get bored of it.
Well i’m going to stop the rambling. I initially wanted to put this post together to tell you that Kendrick has just dropped the music video to the first single ‘i’, off his much anticipated follow up album, which is still untitled. The video is directed by Alexandre Moore and Little Homies. The track has a very upbeat, pop feel to it which isn’t what i was expecting from Lamar, whereas the actual video doesn’t reflect that. I’m liking the contrast. Lamar is breaking some moves throughout the video. I just can’t wait till the release of the album. This track has got me excited. He is such a versatile artist always surprises me.
