Licence To Blot

Licence-to-Blot-1

Hi all

here is my review on the Benefits The POREfessional Licence to blot stick which is an oil blotting stick.

Benefit were kind enough to send me to try this out and I’m so glad they did, because it has changed my makeup game all together.

Luckily it arrived just in time for my holiday to Ibiza where this product really came in handy.

I’m not a fan of any of the blotting powders, loose powders that I have ever tried to help with my shiny t-zone. I’ve tried blotting sheets and they are even worse. I find the product feels too heavy on my skin, causes me to break out and generally don’t like how they look on my skin. I’m not sure if this is due to me having darker skin tone and the powders just not settling very well and making me look ashy. I like a nice dewy look without a super shiny t-zone.

So, when i heard about this new product from Benefit which wasn’t a powder but could mattify oily areas, I was super excited to try it out. The product comes in a small stick form which is perfect for a handbag and super lightweight. I am a sucker for cute packaging and loved the way this arrived, cutest little box. The shape of the stick is actually a prism which is different and cute but also great as the shape of the product helps to reach round the sides of your nose with ease.

It is super easy to apply, you roll it up and apply to the area of concern before applying your makeup and pat it in. It can also be reapplied on top of makeup and won’t ruin your base as long as you pat and not rub it in. I prefer to rub it on my finger first then pat it on. Just what seems to work for me. I used it throughout my week in Ibiza and it was excellent on nights out as every venue was so hot and from all the dancing I was getting a super oily face. There did come a point on every night when I didn’t actually care what I looked like and gave up trying to control the oil and embraced the sweaty face haha.

There is no worry that this product is going to change the way your makeup looks, as the product applies clear. One thing I am really happy about is that it doesn’t have a strong scent to it. It smells a little like Vaseline (petroleum jelly) which is not overpowering at all, very subtile. This is one thing I love as there are quite a few products I have used in the past and loved but I have had to stop using them as the perfumes used irritate my nose and cause me to sneeze.

The product costs £15.50, is available on the Benefits website so click here to take you straight there or there are Benefit stands in many Boots stores, so you can pop in a give it a try before you buy. Remember everyone’s skin is different and the amount of oil we produce varies, so please go and try it out and see what you think.

I would like to add how much I love Benefit as a brand. I recently had difficulties with my They’re Real Push up liner. The product application was not great and felt that the product was drying out too quickly and forming into little balls when I attempted to apply it. After contacting Benefit they were happy to replace the product and I haven’t had any problems since. These things happen, I happened to get a faulty product and that’s fine. It was the way they dealt with it that was excellent. I have to also remind you all I don’t get paid to write good things about products or companies, I just tell you the truth and my experience with them.
