So, you’re planning a trip to Abu Dhabi, there’s one attraction that can’t be missed – the Observation Deck at 300, the highest viewing point in Abu Dhabi. This beautiful location can be found on 74th floor of the Etihad Towers. It is 300 meters high and offers an amazing 360degree view of the city’s splendid skyline. But it’s not just the views that make this attraction so special – it’s the afternoon tea. Of course, it had to have some link to food.
We were lucky enough to be invited for afternoon tea and I must say, we were treated like royalty. Upon arriving at Etihad Towers you’ll walk into a grand lobby like no another. There was someone playing the piano in one corner, an area for you to grab food and drinks along with a beautiful energy. As you walk around you will arrive at the Observation Deck at 300 desk, where they will confirm your reservation and you’ll be escorted to a high-speed elevator to the 74th floor and walk out to the panoramic views of the city below. From this vantage point, you can see all of Abu Dhabi’s most iconic landmarks, from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque to the Emirates Palace Hotel.
The views are epic but the real highlight of the Observation Deck at 300 for me was the delicious afternoon tea. We had the Very Berry Afternoon tea and it came with a selection of sweet and savoury items served on a three tiered platter, along with a selection of jam and spreads and a selection of beverages to choose from. The savoury selection varied from sandwiches, rolls, quiche and sweet selection had tarts, cake and granite to name just a few. Everything on the menu was mind blowing and full of so much flavour. And the best part? You get to enjoy all of this while looking out and taking in the stunning views of the city below.
The afternoon tea at the Observation Deck at 300 is a truly luxurious experience. The food is beautifully presented and the service is impeccable. The waiter really took his time talking through all the items served (there is a lot, be warned). It’s the perfect way to kick back and relax, enjoy some delicious treats while taking in the breath taking views of Abu Dhabi.
The afternoon tea is 260AED per person (approx £58 per person). You will walk away totally stuffed. Other option is you can get a ticket just to see the views for 95AED and part of that ticket is redeemable on food and drinks but I would suggest to get the whole experience and go for the afternoon tea. I would allow approx. 2.5 hours for your visit, that’s including time to take in the views and get your Instagram shots. If you’d like to see a little more from my visit click here to view the reel i created on my instagram account.
Overall, a visit to the Observation Deck at 300 is a must-do activity for anyone visiting Abu Dhabi. It’s a chance to see the city from a whole new perspective, and to indulge in some delicious treats while doing so. I would suggest to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
