Hi
When i say perfect travel companion, I’m not on about your best mate, boyfriend, friend, family member, even though they are very important…I’m on about a suitcase haha!
If you have travelled much you will know that its sooooo important to pick the right suitcase, especially if you are travelling to more than one destination. You are lugging this thing around with you up and down flights of stairs, from airports to taxis, from hotels to boats…basically the list is endless.
On my recent trip around Asia I really had to think about my choice of luggage. I’m just not the person who can manage with a backpack for a months worth of travelling as I know I would be buying things along the way and wanted to go for a suitcase. Few things came into the decision making, size, weight and cost.
During my one month of travelling my suitcase would be faced with this; 11 flights, 3 trains, 2 boat journeys, many taxi’s, underground/subway journeys, endless number of times its been thrown around in the airport, millions of stairs and about 20-30kg of weight! Last thing I wanted was my suitcase to pop open or a wheel falling off.
I went for the 90L Asaklitt Lightweight Trolley Case from Clas Olson in black. It is available in a variety of sizes and two colours black or red. I ensured I checked with all my flights to ensure that the size of the suitcase fitted their guidelines. Its £59.99 and comes with a 5 year guarantee, now that’s impressive! The two things I loved the most about it was that it had four wheels so it was easy to manoeuvre and the wheels weren’t the standard ones that go in two directions they can swivel 360°. Also the suitcase itself only weighed 2.5kg so I can take extra clothes and shoes with me on my trip haha. The suitcase is super spacious, has two zip compartments on the outside (which I never end up using on a suitcase) and a telescopic handle which is very sturdy.
After all the stress my suitcase went through (as stated above) my suitcase did not let me down once. I returned back home with a fully functional suitcase, which I will be able to use again. No rips, zips splitting apart, all 4 wheels intact…I’m impressed and a little shocked. I have to say one of the wheels isn’t doing as well as the other 3 but who can blame it, the way it gets thrown about at the airport and the 20-30kg of weight its had to carry for one month, who would blame it.
I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Clas Olson for sending me this suitcase to accompany me on my journey. It did the job perfectly and I am really impressed with its build quality and I’m hoping it’s going to accompany me on many more journeys around the World!
