Polagram

All this new photography technology is great. You can take hundreds of pictures without having to worry that you will run out of film. I have to admit i miss looking through old pictures in a photo album. Now i just have a hard drive and an iPhone FULL of pictures from trips, meals, selfies, friends and family.

I know with having a digital camera it is so much cheaper. All you need is a memory card and you can snap away. A lot of people may not be able to afford to have a digital camera and a camera that uses film. That is why i got excited about a company called Polagram, which was launched in Paris in 2012.

Polagram offer a service via a free smart phone app where you can order your pictures from your mobile to be printed as small polaroid style pics which cost £0.29 each, posters that consist of 35 pictures costing £16.90, photo books or a personalised phone case which are £19.90.

The lovely people at Polagram offered to send me something so i could get a feel of their service and share with your what i thought of their products. I decided to order a poster which is 50 x 70cm and is made up of 35 pictures and costs £16.90. I picked 35 pictures from a recent trip to Morocco and uploaded them onto the Polagram app which was very easy to use. I had the chance to arrange the pictures how i wanted them to appear, placed my order and waited for it to arrive.

The poster arrived within about 5-6 days from the day i placed the order which was a fast turn around as it was coming from Europe. I was very happy at the packaging the poster arrived in. It was in a solid cardboard tube, so there was no way that my poster inside was going to get damaged or creased. The poster arrived in perfect condition and i was over the moon with it. The quality of the print is great and the material it is printed on feels durable. I think the poster could be put up as it is using some blue tac, but i will be on the look out for a frame for mine.

I think the concept of the poster is a perfect way of getting your favourite pictures from an occasion together for either yourself or a gift for a friend or family member. I’m looking forward to ordering some polaroid style pics from my recent road trip around Europe and hanging them up around my apartment.
