One of the most important things when you are in the sun regardless if it is hot or not, is to protect yourself. This is one thing I bang on about to everyone I know. Forget about your standard skin colour, it still needs protecting. As I’m Indian I often get people telling me I don’t need SPF as I’m already dark skinned….THAT IS NOT TRUE!! Regardless of how dark you naturally are you still need to protect it from the UV rays of the sun. So onto how I protect myself.
So, I really struggle to find a SPF for my face that doesn’t break me out and I can say that Kiehls Ultra Light Daily Defense SPF 50 has never let me down. I have been using this every day for over a year and wouldn’t even think of switching to anything else. It is super lightweight and is not sticky in the slightest. I have about 3 favourites when it comes to SPF for my body but the one I find that gives me the best glow is the Lush Sunblock SPF 30. It is so easy to use as you can apply it straight after a shower and due to its oily texture it absorbs in really well and is really moisturising. A lot of people forget to protect their lips and it is so important not to forget about them and I always have a Nivea lip balm containing SPF30 in my bag or pocket and that’s where it was hiding when I took these pictures. Don’t forget your sunglasses…they’re not just there to hide your bags under your eyes haha, they’re there to protect your eyes from the UV rays. I have to say I love RayBans as not only I love the style of them but I have a small head and I feel that their glasses fit me really well and feel comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
My favourite swimsuit or bikini are ones that are reversible and this one from Topshop is gorgeous. It has this stunning printed side and the reverse is a solid Khaki colour. This always helps with reducing the baggage.
No trip to the pool is complete without an inflatable float. There are so many on the market and I would suggest to purchase one before you go away as they’re always more expensive around holiday destinations. I got this swan from Primark and it was a bargain at £10. It’s a great way to cool off but not fully submerge in the pool.
Hope all you lovelies are doing well.
