Edin’s Kitchen Café

I popped into Nottingham town centre for a few bits and bobs yesterday and stumbled upon a really cute place called Edin’s Kitchen Café, which is located in the heart of Hockley. I can’t believe I have never spotted this place before, as I have walked up and down this street hundreds of times before.

I was a bit peckish and wanted a small bite to eat, so I decided to stop by and check out the menu and see what they had on offer and I was not disappointed. As I am on the healthy eating, eating clean thing with my fitness regime and only have one cheat day a week it is really important to find healthy food that tastes good. I was so happy when looking at the menu, it was my kind of thing, so decided to get a table.

The place has a very rustic, vintage feel to it. It has seating downstairs and upstairs. We decided to sit upstairs by the window so we could do a spot of people watching, haha. The atmosphere was great and the staff are super friendly and most importantly the food was GREAT! I decided to go for the Bruschetta with tomato, mozzarella and caramelised onions which was from the specials board. The dish was £3.95 if I remember right, and for what i paid it was soooo worth it. Looking at the menu in general, everything was so reasonably priced for great fresh food. My dish was a great size and packed full of flavour, super tasty and really well presented.

Sadly i got a call while I was there and had to dash off quickly and didn’t get to try anything else. When I was paying for my bill at the counter, I did happen to spot some homemade Baklava. Being a big Baklava fan I will be going back to try this on my next cheat day.

Click here to take you to their website, the menu is available there too. I have also noticed that they do have another branch in Nottingham and its called Edin’s Deli Café, think I’ll have to try that one next. Be warned there are some really tasty sounding dishes on their menu…got me salivating just reading it. One thing I do love is that they have long opening hours and are open early for breakfast and till late into the evening.

Really recommend this quirky, unique place if you are ever in Nottingham. I have a feeling this is going to be my new favourite spot.
