Water-To-Go

Water To Go Bottle

Hi everyone!

I am back with a great product! Really excited about this one and I’ve got one to giveaway too, so keep reading.

Couple of weeks ago I was at the Body Power show in Birmingham and came across the Water-To-Go drinks bottle, which is a drinks bottle with a filter.
At first glance I thought they were the same as a bottle I used to use, called Bobble…but I was wrong, there is more to this bottle.

I spent a bit of time talking to a lovely employee from Water-To-Go called Dave, who took his time to give me a more in-depth insight into what this bottle was about. The filter technology for this bottle has been developed by NASA space programme. It has the capability of filtering out 99.9% of all microbiological contaminants, bacteria, viruses, microbes that are likely to make you feel unwell.  It also removes Chlorine, Fluoride, Copper and Lead to improve the taste of water and removes any bad odours but still allow the healthy minerals such as Calcium and Magnesium to pass through. Very clever technology, I am very impressed.  This bottle is perfect for when travelling outside the UK, especially if where you are travelling to there will be limited access to bottled water. Basically, I feel that with this bottle I can go anywhere in the World and drink tap water and feel safe. I wish I had found this sooner, as on previous visits to India I have become very unwell. This caused me to lose many days of my holiday spent sitting in a bathroom haha, don’t think I need to elaborate on that. Being a Scientist I was really interested in whether it had been tested and wanted to see some data and I wasn’t disappointed. Don’t want to bog you down with too much Science but it has been tried and tested in USA, Europe and India with bacteria, viruses etc which is why they are confident to say it can filter out 99.9% of microbiological contaminants. Click here to view the data.

If that wasn’t enough, whilst using this bottle we could be helping to save the Planet by reducing the use of plastic bottles and at the same time could save you money, as per litre using this Water-To-Go bottle will only cost 3.5p. The bottle is reusable and only the filter needs to be changed, which is every 2 months or 130 litres which ever comes first. I drink approximately 2 litres a day so I know that I will be able to use the bottle for the full 2 months without having to change the filter.

So, after finding out all this information I decided I needed to try out this bottle. Water-To-Go kindly sent me a bottle to try out.  Their bottles are available in two sizes, 500ml and 750ml. I picked the white 500ml bottle as I preferred something smaller so it wouldn’t weigh my bag down when I’m out and about, and I liked the fact you had a choice of colours. I have been using the bottle for a couple of weeks now and I cannot fault it. One thing I love is that it has a new indicator that you place under the rubber grip, press start when you start using the bottle and the indicator gradually becomes red over time. Once the indicator is all red that is the sign to change the filter…genius!! This was the problem I had with my previous bottle. I would use my bottle on and off and lose track of when I started using it, so then wouldn’t use it until I got a replacement filter. The general style of the bottle is nice and the shape makes it easy to hold and grip.

One thing to note is that If you are used to drinking out of a disposable plastic bottle or a bottle without a filter and a larger opening, drinking from the Water-To-Go bottle will seem like the rate of water flow is slow, but don’t worry as It only takes a day or so to get used to it. The water flow rate is much faster than my Bobble bottle which I was really happy about. Actually after doing some research the Water-To-Go bottle has a flow rate of 12mls per second which is at least 50 per cent faster than the Bobble. I don’t mind the flow rate as I find it helps me pace drinking water throughout the day rather than drinking far too much in one go and then constantly having to run to the bathroom.

The 500ml bottle sells for £12.95 and the replacement filter is £7.95 which includes a new timer.

I’ll be taking my bottle to Ibiza next week and will be testing it out on the Spanish water. So far i am loving this bottle, I feel it’s a must have for anyone thinking of doing any travelling.
