Happy international yoga day everyone!
Hope you’re all enjoying your day and hitting a yoga class or spending a bit of time in savasanna (corpse pose). If you didn’t do either I hope you all had a lovely day.
I didn’t actually get to go to a yoga class myself, but I did get on my Fit Rebel Jelly fish leggings, Lululemon sports bra and any old vest, rolled out my Lululemon UN mat in the garden and enjoyed the beautiful weather and peace and quiet. After a little relaxation i did a little practice. As you can see from my post pictures I payed particular attention to a couple of my fav poses, the wheel and lord of the dance as I’m working on improving them, hence the pictures. I love taking pictures during my practice as I can later reflect on them and see what I was doing wrong and how I can improve and also see my progress because sometimes you can’t feel the progress.
I wanted to also take this moment and share a pair of leggings that I am loving at the moment. In fact they are the ones I’m wearing in the pics on this post and thought it would be a great opportunity to share my review. These beautiful Fit Rebel leggings were sent to me all the way from Malaysia. First of all a big thank to the owner, Nadia for sending them over to me, I fell in love with them soon as I seen them. Secondly I wanted to just say that if you follow my blog and/or social media sites such as Instagram, you will know I pretty much wear Lululemon fitness wear 80% of the time (not sponsored, wish I was haha), Nike 5% and other brands such as Sweaty Betty and new brands like Fit Rebel 15%. I’m also very picky when it comes to sports wear, particularly leggings as I do a lot of squatting, deadlifting and yoga and I need the leggings to be squat proof and hard-wearing as the bar can be quite abrasive. Basically I need to have 100% confidence in my attire so I can concentrate on the task in hand.
So, when Fit Revel approached me and I heard all about the brand and how it all started, I fell in love. Fit Rebel is an independent brand which I have to support as I own an independent brand myself and the prints and quality of the products are brilliant. Nadia kindly let me pick a pair of leggings and I went for the Jelly Fish print. I love the sea and I knew every time I wore them it would remind me of my travels around Asia in 2016 as that was when I first visited Malaysia.
So a little bit about the leggings. The leggings are hand painted designs by traditional batik artists of Malaysia and are super unique. If we take the Jelly fish print leggings I have the print is printed on white fabric. The fabric is unbelievably comfy to wear and they fit like a glove. For reference, I opted for a medium size and I’m about a UK 10 and size 6 in Lululemon All The Right places pant II.
I feel I could have got into a small but they may have been a little on the tight side making them appear sheer whilst squatting. As always I did the squat test in them and they did really well. as the print is printed on white fabric when you squat they are not see-through but the print appears lighter and whiter in colour as the colour of the fabric underneath comes through.
These have been my fav leggings for yoga and I have worn them for a squat session and they did great. I have also been wearing these leggings a lot to run errands during the day with a little vest or t-shirt. For me personally I will stick to the All The Right Places II for squat and deadlift day, just because I like the pocket on the leg for my phone and how sweat wicking they are. For an intense leg day they were a little too sweaty as the fabric is a little thicker and I’ll keep my Fit Rebel leggings for strictly yoga. If those of you who love to get a good Instagram shot, these leggings will make your pictures POP.
Overall a great pair of leggings and so reasonably priced. These particular ones are called Rise Above and are £37 and standard international postage is only 5USD which is nothing for it to be sent all the way across the other side of the world. Also Fit Rebel have also very kindly given you all a 10% discount code which is PAM10 so it’s a win win situation.
