On a recent visit to London we decided to try out The Breakfast Club Cafe (TBCC) in Soho. There are 7 branches dotted around London and they have even started to branch out of London and opened a branch in Brighton.
It was 10:30am and as we approached the cafe we saw a long line (about 25 people) of people queuing up outside the TBCC. Surely they weren’t all waiting to go in…or were they!? I decided to investigate and then realised that yes, they were all queuing up to be seated. Apparently this was normal and a daily occurrence.
As we hadn’t tried this place I was intrigued at what all the fuss was about and decided to wait. It took about and hour to get a table and you’re probably thinking, was it worth the wait? HELL YES! I have to say it was one of the best breakfasts I have EVER had. I went for the All American which comes with pancakes, eggs, sausage, home-style fried potatoes, streaky bacon and maple syrup all for £11.00, which is a bargain, especially for central London. I have to admit I did struggle a bit to finish it all, but somehow pulled through and managed to clear the plate.
The venue is fairly small and I would say it probably seats approx 35-40 people at a time. The staff were really friendly and helpful. One thing I liked was they left you to it and weren’t just hovering around whilst you were eating, but on hand if you needed anything.
Overall great experience and when I’m back in London will definitely be going back.
Go check out their website, it’s so cool and quirky and has a gaming theme throughout. Also don’t forget to drool over the menu. They do serve food throughout the day, so if you’re not in London for breakfast/brunch they do have a lunch and dinner menu and even better the late late breakfast menu so you never miss out on the good stuff.
TBCC not only provide us with great food they love to help where ever they can. In store and on the website they have merchandise for sale, t-shirts, tea towels, maple syrup and mugs and a percentage or all profits depending on the product go to charity. Please go check them out. For example the Angel branch support Shelter from the Storm who provide shelter for homeless people. Every fortnight they get together with Age UK, providing an opportunity for a chinwag and a cup of tea for local elderly people. So, not only do you get great food, you’re helping someone at the same time.
BIG THUMBS FOR THE BREAKFAST CLUB CAFE! I’LL BE BACK VERY SOON!
